Stephen Isley Jewelry will feature the work of Sandra Licence at the Whitefish Gallery Nights open house on Thursday July 1, 2010 from 6PM to 9PM. Sandra is descended from a long line of well known European painters. She uses her heritage, as well as her Montana surroundings as inspiration for the rugged and stylistic bison and horse paintings for which she is best known.
Sandra gained critical art experience while employed at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, ranging from old masters to modern and contemporary painters. She is particularly interested in wildlife in action. Struck by the dynamic power, beauty and strength of bison and horses, she attempts to convey this in her work.
Sandra lives in Bigfork, MT with her husband, Stephen, who is also an artist. Her paintings can be found in galleries and private collections throughout the US and abroad.
